Ningde Nuclear Power Station Unit 1 is successfully connected to the grid

The first nuclear power station in the economic zone on the west side of the Straits, Unit 1 of the first phase of the Fujian Ningde Nuclear Power Station, owned by China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group, was successfully connected to the grid for the first time on December 28. After confirmation by the technicians, the parameters of the equipment in the grid-connected process are normally stable and the status is well controlled. This indicates that the unit's construction has officially entered the phase of grid-connected commissioning and has the ability to generate electricity.

According to reports, the integration of nuclear power units into the grid is a comprehensive test of the overall performance of the primary and secondary circuits of nuclear power plants, and is also the beginning of the creation of value for nuclear power companies. In other words, starting from the grid connection, the people in Fujian can already use the electrical energy from Unit 1 of Ningde Nuclear Power Station. However, on-grid does not mean that the formal business operation, from the date of grid-connected, the unit will enter the state of operation with a load test, continue to carry out load tests, transient tests and other related test projects for the commercial operation to do the final sprint.

The first phase of the Ningde Nuclear Power Plant was jointly invested by China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group, China Datang Group and Fujian Provincial Energy Group. The project uses its own brand of China's improved multi-kilowatt PWR nuclear power technology to build four nuclear power units with a stand-alone capacity of 1.08 million kilowatts. After the completion of the project, the annual power generation will be approximately 30 billion kilowatt-hours, which will ease the pressure on electricity and energy transportation in the southeastern coastal areas, optimize the energy structure and grid structure, achieve the goal of reducing carbon emissions, and promote the sustainable economic, social and environmental development of Fujian Province. The "beautiful Fujian" of green mountains and rivers plays an important role.

The first phase of the Ningde Nuclear Power Plant is one of the nuclear power stations with the highest degree of autonomy and localization in China's million-kilowatt nuclear power plant. The first phase of the project is generally contracted by China General Nuclear Power Engineering Corporation. The project design, equipment manufacturing, engineering construction and technical services are all undertaken by domestic enterprises, and “independent design, independent manufacturing, independent construction, and independent operation” are realized.
