Everyone has a different understanding of inheritance. All the designers in the world can't fully interpret the meaning of inheritance, but they are constantly trying. The rapid development of China's new generation of original design power, inheritance for them is a subconscious, a hope, but also a responsibility.
From March 19th to 22nd, 2017, Shenzhen Fashion Home Design Week and 32th Shenzhen International Furniture Fair and the world's most influential home and design media platform "ELLE DECORATION Home Gallery" specially planned "another heritage" theme The exhibition showcases the creative process and achievements of three Chinese designers. From the perspective of inheritance, it seeks the best combination of folk art and design, and promotes the rise of Chinese original design power and the development of the design industry.

Blue dyeing is an ancient printing and dyeing process. It is generally extracted from the stems and leaves of bluegrass (all known as blue-dyed plants), and added with lime and other auxiliary materials to make indigo. The temperature and odor of indigo have a great influence on the color. The dyeing process is complicated and long, and it is very difficult to make a blue dye. It is mainly found in Guizhou minority areas and is often referred to as Guizhou Blue Dye.

A textile material designer born in the UK and now living in Hong Kong.
Graduated from the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London.

In recent years, Wu Yanling went deep into Guizhou to study the combination of blue dyeing technology and materials, and applied the traditional folk crafts of blue dyeing to home design. During this period, she won the Hong Kong Xinyan Design Ambassador Special Fund and launched the first one at the end of 2016. In 2013, Yin Ming began to go deep into the Guizhou Yishan mountains to help local craftsmen improve the blue dyed weaving process. At the same time, this hand-woven fabric was applied to its men's design, and the “Etiquette Indigo†series was introduced to the European market, and in 2016. At the Italian Pitti Men's Wear Exhibition, it was selected as one of the Top 10 coats by Monocle magazine.

Oliver Tsai, the designer of the exhibition, took inspiration from the three artists' blue-dyed, porcelain, and fabric color similarities, and used gradient smudge as the iconic element of space, and subdivided the representative color attributes of the process. With the changes of color, light and even background music, visitors will experience the beauty brought by the combination of 3 different crafts and designs.
