Why does the printing industry gradually drift away from Beijing?

What makes printers feel anxious is that printing houses are the focus of production and production cuts for manufacturing companies.

For example, in March 2015, the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, a gathering place for large and medium-sized printing plants, issued a plan for heavy air pollution in the region, and listed in the list of 20 “heavy air pollution emergency response companies” given in the attachment to the plan. There are 17 printers, and newspapers, packaging and printing companies such as Shengtong, Hualian, Beijing Xinhua, Amko, Lotte Packaging, and Economic Daily Printing are all well-known. Among them, 11 companies that need to completely stop production are all printing factories.

However, it should also be noted that frequent unplanned stoppages and restrictions on production will inevitably affect the normal production and operation of enterprises. The reason is simple: the printer may occasionally delay delivery of the product once or twice due to delays in production. The customer may also understand. However, if you come back from time to time, the customer is afraid it is difficult to accept.

Over the past decade or so, the rapid development of the printing industry in Beijing has also been a process in which printing houses have gradually moved away from the city center. Why does this trend occur?

The basic reason is simple: In the process of transformation and upgrading from a traditional city to a modern city in Beijing, the separation of residential areas and industrial areas is a necessity. Many of the original printing factories were scattered in the center of the city and mixed with residential areas. This was not the need for industrial development, but was caused by historical reasons. In fact, some printing companies have realized modernization and scale expansion of enterprises through out-of-the-way relocation and land replacement, and have obtained a considerable additional revenue.

Judging from the circumstances of the past two years, the relevant government departments are still very cautious in dealing with the relocation of printing factories. Why does Beijing's printing companies feel that they are under pressure?

The possible reasons are: On the one hand, many companies have already felt that the relocation is the trend and cannot be reversed; on the other hand, it is not easy to move, and many companies face many practical difficulties in the relocation process. For example, high relocation costs and a series of problems that cannot be avoided after the relocation of different places: the stability of the workforce, the timeliness of customer service, and the increase in logistics costs.

Regardless of whether or not feel helpless, for most printing houses in Beijing, the relocation has become a trend that is gradually approaching. If the relocation of Beijing printing factories eventually becomes a reality, what kind of impact will it have? At least one thing is that the restructuring of the market is inevitable: Some companies may take advantage of the situation, and some companies may be in a slump. At the same time, it does not rule out that some companies will close down.
