Wenzhou City Adopts Four Major Industry Transformation and Upgrade Plans

Yesterday, the 37th municipal government executive meeting was held in Wenzhou City. The meeting was chaired by Mayor Zhao Yide. Shoe leather is one of the important industries in Wenzhou's economy. According to the Implementation Plan for the Transformation and Upgrading of the Shoe Leather Industry, Wenzhou City will focus on upgrading the Shoe Industrial Park, introducing the shoe material logistics market and further building the headquarters economy; encouraging enterprises to increase technological innovation, accelerate informationization, and increase the development of energy saving and environmental protection projects. Strengthen efforts to promote brand cultivation, develop independent brands, and promote marketing model innovation; speed up the pace of integration and restructuring, and lay a solid foundation for product quality. By 2012, the industrial output value of enterprises above designated size will reach 97 billion yuan.

The electrical industry is Wenzhou's current industry with the largest industrial scale and the largest number of enterprises. According to the "Electrical Industry Transformation and Upgrading Action Plan (2010-2012) Year", the city will build an "International Electric City" as its overall goal, vigorously develop energy-saving and environmental protection and intelligent electrical products, and promote the electrical industry "high-end products, operating intensive "Chemification, brand differentiation, and internationalization of the chain" form a modern industrial cluster with international competitiveness.
