HC Plastics News: Many people have spent their lives in order to buy a house. Nowadays, the house prices are getting more and more expensive, and the house slaves are getting more and more. Everyone can be said to have hurt their brains. If there is a cheap and stylish plastic house, would you still want to buy a rough house?
EricTouchaleaume, French architectural collector and museum director, believes that OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) is responsible for this phenomenon.
He said: "The oil crisis of the 1970s caused plastic materials prices to skyrocket, and interest in prefabricated plastic houses has come to an abrupt end."
Touchaleaume is now holding his exhibition at the Sculpture and Architecture Park on the outskirts of Marseille, France, giving the public a glimpse into the world of prefabricated houses that were once popular and free.
Beach cube
Take a look at the futuristic magical hut designed by the Greek architect GeorgesCandilis in 1972!
The Candilis-designed homes are easy to assemble and expand to meet the needs of the user and are convenient and modern homes that are ideal for living or camping on the beach. At the time, in the resort of the famous tourist attraction of the Mediterranean Sea, you will see a lot of magical cottages. But today, you are more likely to see it in the popular online marketplace of 1stDibs.
The foam house designed by JeanManeval was also on display. From 1968 to 1970, a total of 30 such houses were produced. Even so, it does not prevent France's most fashionable travel company from building foam houses in the Pyrenees resort.
In addition, you can see a future house designed by Finnish architect MattiSuuronen, which looks like a flying sausage - I really can't think of other more appropriate metaphors.
At that time, Suuronen was inspired by the perfection of the fiberglass vault of the barn, thus creating such a future house. At that time, he wanted to build the hut into a prefabricated ski hotel, but in the end he only produced about 100 sets.
The future houses exhibited in Marseille were exhibited in Mallorca, Spain, when they were launched in order to enter the holiday housing market. But then the plan was aborted, and the houses were abandoned in a pine forest and later sold online.
Plastic house return?
This is not the most exotic exhibit exhibited by Touchaleaume.
Touchaleaume is sometimes referred to as "Indiana Jones in the architectural world." He traveled to Brazzaville, the capital of the Congo, and Chandigarh, in northern India, to find and buy medieval masters such as Jane Pluvi and Le Corbusier, and to bring them back to the country.
Nowadays, almost everyone interested in architecture likes the buildings designed by Jane Pluvi and Le Corbusier. Can we rekindle the old fire and restore the past of the plastic hut?
Touchaleaume is convinced of this. After all, who would reject the cheap, stylish housing concept?
Touchaleaume said: "Now that oil prices are back to low levels, it is not surprising that plastic houses have become a new industry topic. Perhaps in the summer of 2018 we will see the phantom of plastic cabins."
