China's Non-ferrous Slag Concentration Project "China-color Luanxia" put into operation

China Nonferrous Mining announced that its new slag beneficiation project, which will handle 500,000 tons per year, will be put into production in August 2014. At present, an estimated 10 million tons of smelting slag is stored in the Luanxia coal mining area in China, and Luanxia in China uses slag flotation to produce copper concentrates.

Earlier, Luanxia commissioned the Puyang Nonferrous Metals Research Institute and the Beijing Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy to complete a feasibility study for the relevant project. According to the report, the total investment for the slag beneficiation project was approximately US$23.0 million. The project was started on October 28, 2013. The main project was completed by the end of June 2014. The trial run was started on July 1. At present, the project's daily average slag handling capacity and output copper concentrates and various technical indicators have basically reached the design level. By the end of August, 32,220 tons of slag had been processed and 466 tons of copper metal had been produced.

The company believes that the implementation of slag beneficiation projects can achieve effective recycling of resources, which will help give full play to the existing mineral processing and processing capacity, promote environmental remediation and governance, and contribute to the sustainable development of enterprises.
