Any hydraulic cementitious material made of Portland cement clinker, 20~70% granulated blast furnace slag and appropriate amount of gypsum is called slag Portland cement, referred to as slag cement, code P·S.
According to Chinese standards: the amount of granulated blast furnace slag in cement is 20-70% by weight; volcanic ash mixed materials (including fly ash), limestone, kiln dust, which do not exceed 1/3 of the total blending amount of mixed materials, are allowed. To replace part of the granulated blast furnace slag, the replacement quantity of these materials should not exceed 15%, 10%, 8% respectively; it is allowed to use volcanic ash mixed materials and limestone, or together with kiln ash to replace slag, but the total amount of substitution should not exceed 15%, of which limestone should not exceed 10%, kiln dust should not exceed 8%; after replacement, the granulated blast furnace slag in cement should not be less than 20%.
Slag cement is the largest cement product in China currently, divided into 32.5, 32.5R, 42.5, 42.5R and 52.5, 52.5R six labels. Compared with ordinary Portland cement, slag cement has lighter color, smaller specific gravity, lower hydration heat, better corrosion resistance and heat resistance, but higher bleeding, poor frost resistance and early strength. Lower, late strength enhancement rate is higher, so a longer maintenance period is required. The slag cement can be used in various concrete projects on the ground, underground and in the water, and can also be used in the construction of high temperature workshops, but it is not suitable for projects requiring high early strength and freeze-thaw cycles, alternating wet and dry.
