American scientists have designed a new nanomachine computer

The mechanical computer has a long history. The 19th century British engineer Charles Babbage invented the differential machine with 25,000 independent levers, gears and ratchet components, totaling more than 13 tons. The BBC reported that scientists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison - Robert H Blick1, Hua Qin, Hyun-Seok Kim and Robert Marsland - were inspired by mechanical computers in the past to miniaturize mechanical computers and design a new type of nanomechanical computer. . The paper has been published in the July 24th issue of the New Journal of Physics.
Professor Robert Blick believes that it has a very broad business prospect. The principle of this nanomechanical computer is to combine ancient mechanical technology with new nanotechnology to create nanomachined transistors, both in terms of power consumption and temperature. CMOS technology is reduced by orders of magnitude. The smaller the typical silicon-based chip, the faster the moving electrons make the chip hotter, and the mechanical device does not suffer from the same problem. Some scientists have suggested that chip manufacturing companies abandon the traditional CMOS design, and if they don't give up, one day the chip can't go any further.
Their ideas have already attracted the interest of the US military because such mechanical computers are not as sensitive to electromagnetic impulses as electronic computers, and enemy forces in war may use electromagnetic pulse bombs to destroy US military systems. A big problem at present is the miniaturization of batteries, and perhaps the future of nano-generators can solve this problem.
