On September 27, China Eastern Electric Group Dongfang Steam Turbine Co., Ltd. announced the official launch of the first domestically-developed F-class heavy-duty gas turbine (50MW heavy-duty gas turbine) ignition test, marking the formal shift of the prototype from the manufacturing stage to the factory Test phase.
According to the official website, Dongfang Steam Turbine Factory was founded in 1966 and is a subsidiary of China Dongfang Electric Group. It is one of the province's major technical equipment leading enterprises and ranked among the top 100 national machinery industrial enterprises.
Gas turbines are an important symbol in the field of equipment manufacturing, not only for power generation, but also for large ships. The 50MW grade gas turbine developed this time is a product independently developed by Dongfang Steam Turbine Co., Ltd., and it is the first heavy-duty gas turbine with independent intellectual property rights in China. It was listed as a key project in Sichuan Province in 2016. With a capital of more than 1 billion yuan, it will also be the basis for the research and development of 300MW-class heavy-duty gas turbines with independent property rights in the future.
After this ignition test, the 50MW heavy-duty gas turbine will have a complete unit empty load and a complete unit load test within this year. It will complete the optimization design and improve the test tasks in 2020, and officially put into operation in the test power plant in 2021.
