According to UPI reports, scientists at the University of Southern California recently said they have found a new way to eliminate carbon dioxide.
In the past, there were many loopholes in the method of eliminating energy-intensive industrial chimneys or atmospheric carbon dioxide, and the actual operation was very poor. Now scientists have turned their research focus to solid materials based on polyethylenimine (PEI), which is a very low-cost polymer, and the technology is quite mature.
Under certain conditions, the polyethyleneimine solid material can absorb a large amount of carbon dioxide in moist air, and the separation process is also very convenient. Scientists can either permanently seal CO2 in solid polyethyleneimine materials or extract carbon dioxide for other applications. The material can be reused and maintains superabsorbent performance as always.
Scientists suggest that this new material be used in more concentrated areas such as industrial chimneys or automobile exhaust pipes.
