In order to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of life and property of the majority of residents, the Municipal Gas Management Office has combined the requirements of “Nanchang City Gas Industry Safe Gas Hundred Days” to remind users again that the use of gas water heaters in winter requires safety.

Precautions for safe use of gas water heaters

1. The water heater is strictly forbidden to be installed in the bathroom. Users are not allowed to dismantle, modify, move or install it.

2. The room where the water heater is installed should have ventilation conditions to prevent carbon monoxide or other toxic gases from being poisoned.

3. Before each use, check whether the room window or exhaust fan in which the water heater is installed is open and the ventilation is good.

4. The time of continuous use of the water heater should not be too long; once the symptoms such as headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, palpitations, weakness of the limbs, etc., the doors and windows should be opened immediately to ventilate the room.

5. Flue-type and strong-discharge water heaters shall not be used if they are not installed.

6. When the water heater has yellowing, smoking, or irritating smell, stop using it and carry out maintenance.
