Seamless integration of large 3D display

The current trend is to seamlessly integrate large 3D displays onto dashboard surfaces, center consoles, doors and seat panels.
High-contrast images, as well as clear and easy-to-read information when lighting conditions are poor, are also important. The display cannot be reflective or glare (anti-glare). Covestro's Platilon ® TPU film can be used in multiple parts of the interior of a car, such as fabric slats for awning roller blinds, airbags for car seats supporting the waist, or foam coverings for noise reduction components.
Create decorative and lighting effects with flexible electronics
A new and promising field of application for TPU films is "flexible electronics." The thin film processor integrates flexible TPU films with various electronic devices such as trackers or sensors. Hennig said: "TPU film can also be integrated with LEDs. The resulting film laminate can form decorative parts with very complex geometric shapes and provide illumination."
Flexible electronic devices based on TPU films can be used in electric vehicles for large surface area radiant heating inside automobiles, and can replace the costly heating of conventional internal combustion engine exhaust gases. Hennipig said: "TPU films are extremely flexible and have good adhesion. For example, they provide good conditions for integrating the required conductor path electronics into the vehicle's facade panels."
