Reaction injection molding reaction injection molding injection molding reaction injection molding
Reactive injection molding (RIM) is the injection of two or more reactive liquid components into a mold cavity at a certain temperature.
A molding technique in which a polymer is directly produced. That is, a polymerization process is integrated with a molding process, or a "one-step" injection molding technique in which a product is directly obtained from a monomer.
The principle is shown in Figure 1-3. The main process parameters of RIM are essentially different from ordinary injection molding.
RIM refers to the non-reinforced POM material reaction injection molding technology, on the basis of which the development of enhanced reaction injection molding and structural reaction injection molding technology.
Reinforced reaction injection molding is the process of adding a short fiber or a sheet-like reinforcing material during the reaction injection molding process, and injecting the reactant and the reinforced POM material into the mold cavity through the mixing head to form an article.
Structural reaction injection molding techniques are typically a process in which a long fiber reinforcement mat is placed in a mold cavity and the reactants are injected into the reinforcement pad.
The main purpose of these two processes is to provide the reinforced article with better rigidity, heat resistance, and lower the coefficient of thermal expansion to reduce thermal deformation.
