China's temporary anti-dumping duty on optical fiber from Europe and the United States

The Ministry of Commerce announced on the 9th that the preliminary decision was made to adopt temporary anti-dumping measures in the form of margin on non-dispersive-displacement single-mode optical fibers originating in the United States and the European Union, with interim deposits ranging from 4.7% to 29.1%.

According to the investigation report, it was determined that there was dumping in the non-dispersive displacement single-mode fiber during the investigation period, which caused substantial damage to China's domestic industries. There was a causal relationship between dumping and actual damage**. The preliminary decision was made since February 18. Starting from the day, when importing non-dispersion-displaced single-mode optical fibers, Chinese operators should provide corresponding guarantee deposits to the customs according to the dumping margin (4.7%-29.1%) determined by the preliminary decision.

Non-dispersive displacement single-mode fiber is the largest amount of optical fiber in the world today, accounting for about 70% of the total fiber consumption, and is widely used in high-speed, long-distance transmission, such as long-distance communications, trunk lines, cable television and loop feeder networks.

At present, China imposes 5% import duty and 17% import VAT on imported products originating in the United States and the European Union.
