Steel specifications

Hot-rolled steel and cold-rolled or cold formed two types of steel. There are two types of hot-rolled steel plate and steel, cold-rolled or cold-formed cold-formed thin-walled steel and profiled steel.

Hot rolled steel plate

Thick steel plate: thickness 4.5-60mm, width 600-3000mm, length 4-12m (as in the left figure).
Expression method: "width x thickness x length (mm)"
Such as: "-400 × 10 × 1200"
Thin steel plate: thickness 0.35 ~ 4mm, width 500 ~ 1500mm, length 0.5 ~ 4m, is the production of cold-formed thin wall steel raw materials.
Flat steel: thickness 4 ~ 60mm, width 12 ~ 200mm, length 3 ~ 9m, is the raw material for manufacturing spiral welded steel pipe.
Patterned steel plate: thickness 2.5 ~ 8mm, width 600 ~ 1800mm, length 0.6 ~ 12m, mainly used as a walkway board and ladder pedal.


2. Hot rolled steel

1 The angles are equilateral and non-equilateral, as shown in the following figure:
Specifications are expressed as: "Length × Thickness (mm)"
Such as: "100×10"
The specification is expressed as: "long side x short side x thickness (mm)"
Such as: "125×100×10"
The largest specifications produced in China are 200×24 and 200×125×18.
2 I-beams are divided into ordinary and light (Figure 2-7-1).
The specifications of ordinary I-beams are expressed as "I section height (cm)", and "I" is the I-beam symbol. When the specifications produced in China are I10 to I63a, No. 20 or No. 32, the same model is divided into a, b or a, b, and c specifications.
The specifications of light I-beams are expressed as "QI section height (cm)", specifications are QI10 to QI70b, and Nos. 18 to 30 and 70 have a or a and b specifications.

The 3 channel steel is divided into ordinary and light two (Figure 2-7-1).
Ordinary channel steel specifications are: "section height (cm)", "" is a symbol of channel steel, China's production specifications are 5 ~ 40c, 14 or 25 above the same model is divided into a, b or a, b c specification.
The specification of the light channel steel is indicated by the "Q section height (cm)", and the specifications produced in China are Q 5 to Q 40, and the specifications from the 14th to the 24th are a specifications.

4H beam width H-beam flange, narrow flange H-shaped steel and H-shaped steel pile three categories.
a. Wide flanged H-section steel, type designation "HK section nominal height (mm)" or "HK height H x width B x web thickness d x flange thickness t (mm)". Specifications are HK100 ~ HK900, the same model is divided into a, b, c or ... or a, b, c, d, e, f, g, k different specifications.
b. Narrow flanged H-section steel, type designation "HZ section nominal height (mm)" or "HZ height H x width B x web thickness d x flange thickness t (mm)". Specifications HZ80 ~ HZ600, each model has only one specification.
CH-type steel piles, the model number is the same as the width (or narrow) flange H-beam, specifications HU200 ~ HU500.
China currently produces only small-sized H-beams.
Note: In the above, the same type is divided into a, b, c and other specifications, which are divided by the width and thickness of the flange or the thickness of the web.
5 Round steel is commonly used in lightweight steel structures. Specifications in diameter: Φ diameter (mm). Such as Φ16
6 steel pipes are seamless and sewn. Specifications are expressed in "Φ outer diameter × wall thickness (mm)".
The outer diameter of the hot-rolled seamless steel pipe produced in China is 32-630 mm, and the wall thickness is 2.5-75 mm, which is generally relatively thick and uneconomical. Therefore, the commonly used welding coil pipe, which is bent and welded from the steel strip, the price is relatively low.

3. Cold-formed thin-walled steel (Figure 2-7-2)

Cold-formed thin-walled steel is formed by cold-working (cold-bending, cold-pressing, and cold-drawing) cold-rolled steel sheets or strips of 1.5 to 6 mm in thickness. It is characterized by good performance and can save steel, but it is more sensitive to rust.

Fig. 2-7-2 Cold-formed thin-wall steel and profiled steel sheets are specified as "B long side width (or height) × short side width (or width) × crimp width × thickness (mm)". When the lengths of the long and short sides are equal, only one side width is injected. The width of the curl is only used for the rolled steel.
Such as: equal angle steel B 60 × 2.5, unequal angle B 60 × 40 × 2.5; curl equal angle steel B 60 × 20 × 2, edge unequal angle B 60 × 40 × 20 × 2.
Channel B 120 x 40 x 2.5, channel steel B 120 x 50 x 20 x 2.5.
Square steel pipe B 60×2, rectangular steel pipe 80×60×2, round steel pipe BΦ60×2.

4. Pressed steel plate

Profiled steel plate is made of corrugated steel plate pressed with a steel plate with a thickness of 0.4 to 2 mm. The corrugation height is in the range of 10 to 200 mm. The surface of the steel plate is painted, galvanized and coated with an organic layer to prevent corrosion. Therefore, the durability is better. .
Pressed steel plates are often used as roofing panels, wallboards and floor slabs. The advantages are light weight, high strength, aesthetics and quick construction.
